Studio Silence
The journey of healing is not always linear.
In 2018, my life changed with a diagnosis that will forever be my reminder to live out loud. I found myself losing parts of who I was, including my passion for art. For a while, it felt like pieces of me had gone quiet. Then I made a choice to fight for happiness.
But how?
In the quiet hours of the morning, somewhere between the clay and the canvas, I began confronting the challenges of identity, healing, and becoming myself again. Art gave me a place to process what I could not always explain. Writing gave me language for the parts of my story I was still learning how to hold.
Every crack in the stoneware became a story of resilience. Every brushstroke became a breath of transformation. Every sentence became a piece of empowerment.
Because of the blessings I am given daily, I pour these gifts back into the world. Through art, literature, color, clay, and creativity, I continue to remind myself and others that healing does not have to be perfect to be powerful.
Sometimes it begins with one small act of expression, one honest moment, one piece of ourselves we decide to reclaim.
